Two Steps Forward | Agriculture

I always tend to share on social media the happy photos that I capture in a day. Not everyday is sunshine and joyful photos though. Some days things go wrong, everything breaks, animals die and jobs don’t get done. It’s like that saying “two steps forward and one step back”. Things are not going the way you want them to go and your results are not showing for the time and effort you have poured into it. You spend all day trying to save an animal that you just can’t save, submit paperwork that you can’t get done, fix something that you don’t have the parts for and the list goes on and on …. and … on.
It’s like no matter what you do – you can’t get ahead.
But stop, take a deep breath. The funny thing is you really are making a difference. If you keep pushing yourself and moving forward you will eventually get that paperwork done, get that piece of equipment fixed, mark some things off of your to-do list and learn to accept the fact that you can’t save them all but you sure as hell can try.
As I look at the bucket that I searched 15 minutes for, you know the bucket that on any other day they seem to be everywhere around you, lose the water that I just filled up I thought to myself this is not my day. Even a bucket that I’m trying to fill up to take to a sick animal won’t even work out for me. I took a step back and realized this is not about me. To get over myself and to search for another bucket.
The satisfaction of finding that different bucket that held water was way more satisfying than giving up. When I drove the water to our animal in need and he chugged the water down in seconds I knew that my two steps forward and one step back was worth it. I knew that something else that depended on me was helped and I made a difference.
No matter what goes wrong or how many holes you have in your bucket- never give up. You make a difference!
